Project Description
Situated in the heart of the Idanre Local Government area, Ala-Elefosan stands as a testament to Protergia's commitment to driving positive change through sustainable energy solutions. This historic community, with roots dating back over a century, is home to more than 5000 residents who have long awaited access to reliable electricity.
In 2021, Protergia undertook the monumental task of electrifying Ala-Elefosan, marking the inception of our isolated mini-grid project in Ondo State. Since then, the impact has been profound, with newfound access to electricity sparking an increase in economic activities and contributing to a noticeable improvement in living standards for the residents.
At the heart of our efforts lies a 45 kWp/60 kW mini-grid operated by Protergia. This state-of-the-art infrastructure serves as the lifeblood of Ala-Elefosan, providing sustainable energy solutions to a community of approximately 3000 people. From powering essential services like clinics to empowering women-owned businesses, the mini-grid has become an indispensable asset for the community.
With over 200 connections currently in place, the mini-grid represents far more than just an energy source—it symbolizes hope, progress, and the promise of a brighter future. As we continue to expand our reach and impact, Protergia remains steadfast in our mission to empower communities, catalyze economic growth, and drive sustainable development across Nigeria. Ala-Elefosan is just the beginning of our journey toward a more electrified and empowered nation.
