Project Description

A 96.3kW solar PV grid-tied carport system. First and largest of its kind in an educational institution in Nigeria. This is the first phase of the greening the grid project.

American University of Nigeria, (AUN) in its usual way of adopting novel global practices, decided to embark on a clean energy solution scheme. This led to Protergia Nigeria Limited developing a 120KVA (97.2kWp) solar system for the University. The Akin Kekere-Ekun building which houses the Administration & Finance operations of the University was conceived to be a “Green Building” hence the preference for the building to be powered by solar energy.

This project will contribute to addressing the gap in electricity supply in the American University of Nigeria (AUN) as well as showcase the desire of the University in keeping up to date with advanced technology.

Massive cost reduction and promotion of environmental cleanliness. The University was able to save up money which can be channeled to satisfy the educational needs of the school.
