Laje Minigrid, Ondo

Project Description
Laje stands as one of the vibrant communities earmarked for electrification by Protergia in Ondo State. With an electrification timeline set for the second quarter of 2024, this initiative aims to bring sustainable and reliable electricity access to the residents of Laje. Presently, the community boasts a population exceeding 5,000 individuals, with diverse demographics including farmers, civil servants, and a thriving array of small businesses.

The electricity demand in Laje is estimated to be approximately 289 kWh, reflecting the varied needs of its inhabitants. Recognizing the pivotal role electricity plays in driving socio-economic development, our project seeks to address this demand by implementing a 63 kW system. This system, meticulously designed to be scalable, will initially cater to the needs of 458 of the most committed businesses and households in the community.

Beyond meeting immediate electricity needs, our project promises to catalyze transformative change within Laje. By enhancing access to electricity, we aim to stimulate economic growth and foster entrepreneurship within the community.

We envision our electrification efforts serving as a beacon of progress, inspiring future phases of development and demonstrating the immense potential for positive change in underserved communities.
