Kabba-Bunu Solar Illumination Project, Kogi

Problem
To ensure lumination of the community.

One of the ancient communities in Kogi state decided to embark on a project to provide street lights to the community to boost economic activities at night.

Project Description
Kabba-Bunu is located in Kogi West Senatorial district of Kogi State. It is an ancient town and it is the headquarters of the Kabba-Bunu local government area.

The solar street light project is a community social responsibility project (CSR) from the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA). A total of twenty-four units of solar street lights were installed across the local government to illuminate the communities thereby promoting security in areas and also increasing the quality of life by artificially extending the hours in which it is light so that activity can take place such as business sales and lots more.

This project will contribute to addressing the lumination of Kabba-Bunu LGA, considering the importance of night lumination and the benefits as it improves safety for drivers, riders and pedestrians.

Result
A total number of 24 solar units were erected in the local government to promote the standard of living of the residents.
